itsok

Recently, I mentioned the new spam wave that was tagging its hyperlinks with rel="itsok". Theyre still at it, and Im still not sure why. I am sure however, that it doesnt work to their advantage. At least, it doesnt have to.

Personally, Im not too bothered by their shit; my cms is quite capable of filtering nasty comment spam out, and that what does get through, would have to be approved by me personally in order to ever appear on this site. However, my trackback system currently isnt bulletproof (and I dont have time to fix that right now), so some of the nastiness does come through.

This is where rel="itsok" comes in Considering the following css:

[rel="itsok"] { display: none !important }

There: That takes care of at least the (rather essential) hyperlinks until I find the time to smite the entire trackback with extreme prejudice.

ACJ :')

I have a question for you, if you don't mind. What method do you use for coming up with your colors (and their subsequent 3 digit values)? Do you have a program for it, or some other means? I'd like to adopt 3-digit versions of my colors (or close variations of them) to my CSS sheet, and I'm also worried about the colors differing on different OSs/browsers. Help me plz, my muse. My e-mail's included if you'd prefer.

Ah, thanks for the reply. I'm not too sure myself what I was asking.

Basically, when I'm need unique colors for a web design, I'll usually pick out a few from a source image with Photoshop's color picker and adjust the tint until I'm pleased with it. I'm just kind of uncomfortable doing that, because I don't know if there's a large varying of how color is displayed on different computers (as in, different os/browser/monitor) with the type of hex values PS gives me.

I'm currently rewriting my site from scratch. I'm about 80% done, and I'm very happy with the markup and CSS choices I've made. Under the hood, this'll probably be the most accomplished design I've done in years. I'm just worried about some of my color choices.

:)

I know what you mean. I'm still trying to decide. Now that I've finally got my blog pretty much how I want it CSS/markup wise, I'll probably impliment comments (selectively, like just on certain entries) soon after I get the rest of my sections up.

This might sound silly, but I'm going to talk to CCShadow about getting MKShin running again. It's too nice a resource to let rot. Plus I've got the design bug.
