Writing

Even though I’m dyslexic (sp؟) and have an attention disorder (adhd), I enjoy writing (probably more than I enjoy reading). My native language is Dutch, but I usually write in English. I also like to experiment with other languages and scripts from time to time, if only for the typographic æsthetics (see my typography).

Weblogs

Also known as Web logs or blogs, they are chronological logs of thoughts published on the Web. Here are mine:

ACJ’s Weblog
My primary weblog — hosted on this site — where I write about sports, science, technology, and other stuff that happens to interests me at a given time (including my personal life).
deviantART: AcjBizar: Journal
My [online] journal at deviantART, a popular online artistic community. It’s not very active (or serious).

There’s a few more external sites on which I have room for an online journal, but they usually contain either one entry that tells people where my real weblog resides (which is here), or nothing at all.

Poems

Some silly poems I wrote years ago (in Dutch).

Teveel knopen in m’n zakdoek.
Teveel draadjes los.
Soms heb ik trek in kroepoek.
Soms loop ik in het bos.

Tijd voor een leuk gedicht.
Eén met harmonie en evenwicht.
Niet al teveel zwartgaligheid.
Niet over pijn, angst en spijt.
Maar eentje dat is afgericht.

Zonde zijn zij die zonder zonden zijn.

Books

Not to be confused with my <books/> project.

ACJ’s Curriculum • 1980 ‒ 2005
A portfolio-like book I designed for the classes of Jan Willem Stas in my final year Graphic & Typographic Design at the Royal Academy of Art (kabk).
Onzinnen
A little book filled with made-up words accompaneed by illustrations.
Onbewust Geabsorbeerd, Bewust Geobserveerd
A book I wrote and designed for the color book assignment that concluded the second year Graphic & Typographic Design at the Royal Academy of Art (kabk). 90% of its pages are blank; it’s part of the concept.

Thesis

Neo-estheticisme
Thesis for the degree Bachelor of Design at the Royal Academy of Art (kabk). Nominated for thesis of the year.
