Yesterday afternoon, Dan-Vi came by for some advice on CSS, HTML and XML. I explained the basic concepts of the three, showed some real-life practice examples, and provided some usuable links.
After this technical interlude we decided to play some basketball at my home court.
First we shot some hoops, then two guys (Boda and Naushad) challenged us (Dan-Vi and I) for a game of two-on-two, winner-ball, to eleven. We won. After this game, two (better) guys (Arshad and Mikey) challenged us.
When they were leading 10 to 4, Dan-Vi went from the court to sit down because she was tired. I was now by myself, down 6, facing a team that has match point and possession. Arshad said I could go sit down, too, because it was over anyway. That's when something snapped. Dispite my injuries and tiredness I decided to show them some real defense, blocking a couple of shots, and grabbing a defensive rebound. From that moment on, I took matter into my own hands. They never knew what hit them, as I took home the victory.
Both exhausted, Dan-Vi and I relaxed on the swing for some time. I then brought her to the tram, and went home to watch the soccer game that had already started.
After the delight of seeing the Netherlands team beat Sweden, I took a quick shower, put on a suit (with an orange tie, of course), and went on my way to Wouter who was throwing a birthday party.
I was feeling kind of nervous on my way there, but I wouldn't let this spoil my night. When I arrived at his place, I started feeling a lot better.
At the party, I met Wouter's brother Tim, who is a movie director with whom I've worked on a little movie about street violence about 6 years ago. I hadn't seen him for about 5 years. I told him that I had figured in the Bollywood film Hum Tum. He said that he'd seen it, but hadn't recognized me. He also said he's working on his own breakthrough; a movie with ten action scenes that he wants to take to Kan. He said he needed somebody to make a simple yet professional website for it. I said that I'm the guy he's looking for, and gave him my number.
When Tim had left, I decided to do some real partying. I drank wine and boogied my ass off on all sorts of music. I had been ages since I danced, and it felt great—very liberating.
I decided to not make it too late (after all, I'm a bit out of practice on the party front). I got home around 3:30 A.M., really feeling like writing , but also feeling too tired to actually do it.
