I have decided to pick up working on game patches for popular PC games again. In the past I have created patches for many games like; Mortal Kombat 4, Need For Speed [2, 3, and 4], StarCraft, NBA Live ['97 to 2003], and many others. This time there's a couple of games I want to be focussing on, being The Sims™, GTA Vice City, Mortal Kombat 4 (again... or still), and NBA Live 2004.
Because I often enjoy working on game patches more than actually playing them (I'm weird like that), and because—even though I have a lot of free time nowdays—I don't have unlimited free time; I am going to need some beta testers for these projects.
The project I started working on tonight is a Mortal Kombat patch (or series of skins
) for GTA Vice City. So far, I've created one skin (Johnny Cage) that needs to be tested. Since I don't have the game, and don't really feel like getting it and playing it (for now), I'll need somebody to test it for me. If somebody could provide me screenshots of this skin in action, it would help a great deal for the creation of new skins.

Tommy Vercetti's character model can be a bitch to work with in comparison to the less polygonally-dignified player model of GTA3; or at least that's my experience. Feel free to contact me with any future information regarding Vice City skins. I'd be more than glad to help in whatever way I can.

Thanks for testing it, Squip; the screenshots say a lot about the way the model works (which is kind of odd—especially the front of the shirt is simply repeated for the back). I'll look for information on the other characters that you mention. Do you have any work of your own that happens to be online? If so, let me know.

In the way of skins, my work has been limited to just a few I pounded out for curiousity's sake. Nothing I would deem of high enough quality to bother sharing with others. From the looks of it though, I'd guess you aren't exactly new to the skinning process. There were some sweet spots in that Johnny Cage skin (particularly in the facial area) that I thought translated well onto the in-game model.

i tested your skin the face is good but u got to remember that the vice city guy is wering a shirt, and the shirt works like this what u put on the front shows the same on the back so everything but the chest is good, the chest looks like a shirt when you ride a bike or even run the shirt stile does not change no mater what you can only change the color or in other words the desing
but very good try i give you a 10 for efort and a 8 for the hole project

To all the people asking for the skin, its already posted at the top of this page, just click on the image with right mouse button and select SAVE IMAGE AS... then save it as BMP and out it on the skins folder of the game. now you can play the game and test it selecting it in the skins menu of the game. I aint tested it yet but i think it will not look good because of the original model of the game need to be changed to suit this partly nude skin.
