Last night, I had a lot of difficulty getting asleep. I had played basketball at Central Station with a lot of people for hours, and was pretty tired, but that didn't seem to help. It was one of those nights where when there's a lot of activity going on in my brain when I close my eyes and try to sleep — activity that's hard to define, but doesn't feel right. If I would have to call it anything, I'd call it delirium, because there's anxiety, hallucination, and delusion. It's a stream of chaotic and completely random sounds and images. Luckaly, I don't have these too often. I don't really have any idea what causes it, but I know I hate them.
When I finally did catch sleep, I woke up very early, fealing extremely tired and disoriented — it was clear I wasn't supposed to be awake. This happend several times before I finally woke up feeling reasonably normal
(which was around 4 P.M., I think).
I got up and checked my messages: on the net, and on my cellular phone. There were quite a few. Doctor Sibie from Parnassia had left a voice mail message, probably to make a new appointment. Roos had also left a message, asking whether I wanted to join her and Dan-Vi to the Zwarte Ruiter later. If any of them had called back, I would have picked up, but I really wasn't in the mood to call them back myself.
The weather had a possitive influence on my mind today, though. It should be known that I spend most of my time playing basketball, and today was perfect for it. I packed my bag with clean clothes, food and water, and went to pick up Enrique at Bakkersplein. After an hour or so, we headed towards Tram 2 Court, where we agreed to meet up with a lot of people. They all came, and them some, but not all at the same time. At any given moment there were just enough people to play five on five, and that's what we did... for hours straight (note that Enrique and I played from start to end).
My game today was the same as yesterday: a lot of turnovers to my standards, but then also some extremely nice passes, and a low fieldgoal percentage to my standards, but then some extremely nice shots. It's weird, but not too bad (though not as good as my second best day by a long shot).
It's 2:11 A.M. now — I'm looking forward to tomorrow (I hope the weather will be good), but I'm not looking forward to the night.
In other news: I finally installed NBA Live 2004 (I'm late this time). The controls and gameplay have changed quite a bit since the last installment I'm still to decided whether this is a good thing (I probably just have to get used to it). I was surprised by how similar it is to NBA Inside Drive 2004 that I've been playing on Xbox recently. I shall creating new gamepatches for this baby, soon.
Oh, and... happy Earthday.
This day, elsewhere.
