The start of the future of MK websites

Last night/this morning I installed Apache Cocoon 2.1. Prior to this, I successfully installed Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition 1.4 SDK Developer Release, WinCVS, and Tomcat 5.0. In retrospect, everything went pretty seamlessly, apart from the fact that this friggin' instable box kept crashing (crashes during building processes are not fun).

I'm very excited about finally having taken the step to get Cocoon running —something I've been meaning to do for some time now— since I can now get my XSLT groove on... locally.

In other news, the Mortal Kombat Kourier (my Mortal Kombat website) affiliate MKShin (run by James LaBove) has relaunched yesterday. He was a bit later than I was, but we did manage to relaunch both sites on January 1st. MKShin is dedicated to anomalies and errors (glitches) in the Mortal Kombat video games. Combined with an automated system via which MK fans can submit the glitches they have encountered (including a description and/or screenshot of the event), this has lead to heaps of very exclusive content. What is also very nice about the site is its use of webstandards and level of accessibility (but hey, it's James).

I predict that the next respective relaunches of MKK and MKShin will be powered by XSL/XSLT.
