Weblog entries posted on this day.
Got up around 2PM, decided to close my eyes one more time, then was woken up by my mother four and half hours later. Hmm. I looked out the window to see if it was good weather to play basketball, but was confronted with a stack of snow. Hmm, again.
Before I went to bed this morning, I decided to impliment the new design —that I'd been working on at Sinewaves.org— on my home page.
Kind of an impulsive decision, but that's not exactly a first for this site... and I can afford to do so (I'm not like this with corporate websites, trust me).
I removed my entire portfolio, the science section, the music section, the basketball section... everything that mattered, pretty much.
I uploaded the all new KABK portfolio though.
It now has more content, an all new design, and is now in Dutch... I'm really pleased with it.
By the way, the new design of the site works infinitely better in Mozilla Layout Engine browsers than in Internet Explorer, but
frankly, my dear... I don't give a damn
.
P.S. blo.gs finally allowed me to add Jacques Distler's Musings to my favorites lists. Yay!
So here we are... 2004. This wasn't exactly the kind of new years eve I'm used to. No going out, no massive drinking, no seeing stuff burn, no seeing a lot of people... I feel less good than I did yesterday, although it's better than the day before that.
So I've been spending the night at home, working on my websites.
I launched the all new Mortal Kombat Kourier a few minutes before midnight.
The website is still about the popular fighting game Mortal Kombat, but it could also be about webstandards by now.
The site has 6 themes (controlled via alternate style sheets and Java/ECMAScript), and I'm planning on doing more (perhaps have other people design themes, ala css Zen Garden).
Talking about webstandards... W3C Director Tim Berners-Lee to Be Knighted by Queen Elizabeth
.
A caption from the article:
Buckingham Palace today announced that Queen Elizabeth II will make Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director, a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE). UK Honours are available to all who give service in the United Kingdom.
About time, I'd say. Next target is to become president of the word (which he already is... in a sense).
This day, elsewhere.
