I just got home. I left from the Academy early because I was feeling sick. I have inflamation of the troath again, which is the fourth time in four or five months. I'm also experiencing headaches and anxiety attacks again, which is weird. I actually thought that period had past again. Maybe it's because of my bio-rythm that is non-existant. I woke up extremely late during the weekend, and today I woke up about 2 hours before the time I had set on my alarm clock, leaving me with a total of three ours of sleep or so. I was actually feeling pretty good when I woke up and decided to spend this little free time that had offered itself to work on my school projects for today. Too bad I was feeling to sick to attend the second class of today to show my work. Oh well, it will save me a bit of work for next week.
The class I did attend was the first of today and is called interactive media. It appeared we were getting basic lessons on webdesign today, for which I obviously have very little use (did that come of pretentious?). I used the time and resources to do some testing on my websites, while trying not to argue with the things the teacher was saying all the time.
It appears that there's some small issues with the way Safari and IE:mac handle portions of the Style Sheet of this website in Mac OS X.
The way IE handles letter-spacing
is very buggy.
The letter spacing of my h1
elements was too wide, and when I resized the window it became too narrow.
Then, when I hovered the cursor over it, it became too wide again.
That makes very little to no sense, especially considering I didn't involve :hover
in the styling of this element.
Safari appears to be ignoring font-variant: small-caps
, which is a shame, and it was also ignoring the background-color
properties of :link:hover img
, or at least not displaying it properly.
Another thing I noticed in Safari is that it renders abbr
elements italic, which is rather annoying since I want abbr
elements to inherit the font-style
value of its parent.
The most annoying problem was probably the fact that the <div id="menu">
I use on some of the pages of this site was floating at the far right of the screen in IE, where it's supposed to be aligned with the border of the <div id="root">
.
I will try to find some valid work-arounds for these little problems, but they don't mean the end of the world.
I talked to Sarah and Fanny from the Integration project group today, and gave them some comforting words about the whole review situation of past friday. They were particularly glad to hear that people like Jos Rutten and Kees van Drongelen expressed their appreciation about the movie.
On my way home, I dropped by at the bookstore that's around the corner at the Academy to buy Abou Jahjah's book Tussen twee werelden. It's my present for my mom who's having her birthday tomorrow. Some see Abou Jahjah as a liberator of minorities, others see him as a facist. Maybe his books will tell us more.
I added some more links to the list of externals. One of the links I added is that of The Purple Bunny's weblog, which now carries the title * ACJ sprays Agilol down with pepper spray. Long story, you should have been there.
