It's too hot.

It's hot, mad hot. Crazy hot! Autumn is supposed to making it's way very soon, but I think it's more hot today than it has been all summer. I really feel like shooting some hoops (read: playing basketball) outside, but I doubt that'd be a healthy thing to do right now... perhaps later.

School started again on tuesday. We went to one of the best printing companies of the Netherlands (Koninklijke De Swart) and got to hear what our new assignment -and first big project of this year- was going to be. The assignment, in a nutshell, is to design a new weapon for the state of the Netherlands. The printing company is going to produce a book with the final designs of all the participants (third year Graphic Design students from the Royal Academy of Arts). The overall design of the book will also be done by students of the Royal Academy, and is supposed to become a display of the skills of both the printing company as the Royal Academy. Similar to the North Sea Jazz Art Poster assignment, this assignment comes in the shape of a competition where the winner will be granted a symbolic prize of 500 euros. The first thing I said when I heard about the North Sea Jazz competition was; "I'm going to win!". I won. The first thing I said when I heard about this competition was; "I'm going to win!". I'm really looking forward to working on this project.

On wednesday we had Film History class for the first time. Kind of chaotic class, but fun none the less. We didn't have class on thursday.

Yesterday (Friday) I was supposed to have my first Design class from Petr van Blokland who is a great XML and Python expert, and the author of xpyth. I'm really looking forward to absorbing his knowledge, but I had to call in sick this first day due a stomach ache that was acting up. I'm not the only one in my class that has been suffering from this: most people that went to Istanbul on our last trip have the same thing (and that's also where it started... go figure).

Oh, I've also been working hard on my website(s). I created this weblog thingy you're reading now, I touched up the markup of the pages, and I'm working on new themes and StyleSheets. I'm will impliment the new layout when I think it's finished enough (I never think it's completely finished). When this will be... I don't know.
