As a kid in primary school, I was fascinated by animals and plants. The only thing that changed in that aspect is that I now refer to it as biology.
As a kid, I used to collect seashells. I liked the exotic type that I would buy or receive from people that had visited equally exotic places, but the greatest joy came from studying the — relative boring looking — ones I would find on the Dutch (west) coasts.
